The One Day Introduction to Paragliding Course is a fun day where you will really get a feel as to what this great sport is all about. You will be introduced to the equipment and the principles of Paragliding and will have a go at all sorts of things such as ground control, launching and take off! This is the first step towards learning how to take off by your self and may well encourage you to become a qualified paraglider. You can soar with the birds!

Experience Content:

You will start your day by either meeting your instructor at the centre or at an agreed location which will be selected depending on conditions. You will have a safety briefing and be introduced to the equipment which includes the glider, harness and helmet. You will then work on how to handle the glider when it is on the ground and how to control it when it is in the air.

The fun really starts when you start learning to land and take-off and you will, depending on conditions, finish the day with a tandem flight with your instructor, who’ll be showing you what to do along the way.

This is where you’ll have the opportunity to fly yourself! This course will teach you the basics of Paragliding and as well as being a fun day, will provide an excellent grounding if you choose to continue with the sport.

Accommodation Details

Duration:
Whole day, approximately 6 hours.

What to Wear / Equipment:
The centre will provide all the equipment. We recommend wearing warm clothes in the winter months, but not too bulky. Full- length trousers and comfortable, secure foot-wear such as hiking boots or trainers are advised.

Group Size / Spectators:
Maximum 3 participants per instructor. Spectators are welcome to observe.

Weather:
Paragliding is weather dependent. Should the activity be cancelled, the centre will provide alternative dates. Please check with the centre to confirm before setting off.

Availability:
Year round, every day of the week.
Madrid: From October to June
Pirineo Aragonés: From June to September

Restrictions:
Minimum age: 16yrs (minors will need parental consent).
Minimum weight: 45 kgs/ 7st/ 100lb
Maximum weight: 115kgs/ 18st/ 254lb Please check with the centre if you have a medical condition which could affect your taking part in the activity.
