Shane Gingell a highly experienced pilot flying 18 years with 1000s of hours flying time. Holding the Queensland distance record for nearly a decade from 1998 till 2007. Shane was responsible for the opening and pioneering of many of the sites we fly today in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. In the 90s He was elected to the Executive Committee for the local flying club and nominated Safety officer. He has been passionately involved in pilot development and site development for nearly 2 decades now. Today Shane has been appointed Senior Safety officer for Paragliding by the Hangliding Federation of Australia the governing body that regulates the sport. Shane finds it very gratifying teaching his passion of paragliding to student pilots and passing on his many years experience.

It is important to learn with and instructor in the area where you intend to fly after you gain your restricted License. As you will still need your instructors support to maintain your safety and to continue developing your flying skills. Your instructor can advise you on the suitability of different flying sites for your ability and the suitability of daily weather to maintain a high level of safety for the restricted license.
