Our location –
We are based just 3 hours away from the international airport at Mumbai (Bombay) city in the Western Ghats a beautiful range of hills dotted with ancient cave temples, medieval hill fortresses and colonial hill stations and is also perfect for paragliding. The Mumbai Pune Expressway will whizz you from the airport right to our doorstep.
What kind of flying can you expect here –
Characterised by long spiny ridges, grassy bowls, tiered by low foothills and abundant flatlands, the north south direction of the range is occasionally broken by offshoots of narrow ridges with flat tops stretching inland and eastwards and gradually merging with the plains
• Dynamic winds
• Thermic buildup in the afternoons
• Smooth soaring conditions in the mornings and evenings
• Possibility of flying virtually every day
• Flying along with the birds including the skygods

Season - November to the following May. An eight month long flying season comes to an end with the monsoon season (June to September)

Who can fly here - Low airtime pilots looking to hone their skills, clock huge amounts of airtime and experience the full measure of this exhilarating sport as well as experienced pilots looking for adventure and wanting to explore new sites

What we do for you -

We take care of all your flying needs and offer you other facilities as well.
For pilots traveling with their own gear Nirvana Adventures offers a per day package cost inclusive of all meals eaten at our guesthouse, dorm accommodation, site transportation (one trip to the flying site per day), & flying company.. We have dorms & private rooms with en-suite facilities as well. Mail us for details.

Other facilities include:
• Airport pick up and transfer to our base at Kamshet
• Facilitating your onward reservations
• Organise vehicles at the best prices (if you wish to go sightseeing)
• Hire of equipment
• Site guiding / flying company (guide versant with the local conditions , languages and customs)
• Info on the sites in the broader reaches Western Ghats including where to stay and whom to connect with
• Supply you with interesting non flying info on the region as well

Our guesthouse, ‘Native Place’s contemporary Indian design and many delightful levels lend a distinctive provincial charm. Native place is a guesthouse with a difference – fantastic views of the lake, lots of hang out spaces and a friendly atmosphere. Chill out in the evenings at the guesthouse with a cold beer, music, BBQ and students and local pilots for company.

A bonus for foodies - The kitchen a foodie’s delight, serves home cooked meals; menus include a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian curries, tandoori or BBQ chicken, as well as western favorites.

A taste of India – This will not be simply a flying holiday. Besides being introduced to a wide variety of food from across the Indian subcontinent you will feast your eyes on the colorful scenery, interact with the curious kids at the flying site and experience the hospitality of village India while you enjoy great flying every day.

How to get here – Direct flights are available to Mumbai (Bombay) airport every day from most international airports. We arrange to have you collected from the airport and brought to our doorstep – Rs 3000/- for a vehicle
