Ngare Sero has been a family owned a operated company since 1973.

Timothy Leach (the son of the proprietors) took over as managing director in 2001. Tim was born and raised in Tanzania and has since opened the Lake Natron Camp, the Kichanja Camp as well as hang gliding and paragliding safaris. Stacia Soysal Leach (wife of Timohty) is from the United States and started Yoga Tanzania at Ngare Sero in 2001.

Ngare Sero is dedicated to eco tourism and promotes carbon negative tourism in Tanzania. The is run on 100% hydro electric turbine and Timothy is always experimenting with other eco fuels such as Jatropha plants and other up and coming natural fuels.

Staying at Ngare Sero you will feel at home and part of the family.

Many of the staff at the lodge have been there since the opening day along with their children and now grandchildren.
The grounds cover 100 acres of natural forest, springs which feed the Ngare Sero Lake, there are many gardens with colourful flowers and plants throughout the year. Many of the Ngare Sero clients are return visitors year after year.
